A Legacy of Innovation and Engine Protection
AMSOIL was founded back in the 1960s, and we truly hit pay dirt when our founder, Al Amatuzio, developed AMSOIL 10W-40 synthetic motor oil. It was not an overnight breakthrough, but with years of research and testing, AMSOIL became the first company to develop a synthetic motor oil that met American Petroleum Institute service requirements, and the rest is history.
Today, AMSOIL is more than just a synthetic motor oil powerhouse. We are a true jack of all trades in terms of lubricants and protectants for your engine, with a range of products from fuel additives to power steering fluid and even gear oil and filters. Our methods are backed by independent and in-house research conducted over the short, medium, and long term. We have conducted studies on a range of vehicles and machines stretching from taxis to emergency vehicles and even wind turbines and industrial machines. However, that is not it. We believe that Racing is Research and have invested in powering stock cars, off-road trucks, dirt bikes, snowmobiles and high-powered boats. Using the data we get from the racecourse, our engineers and chemists can adjust our formulas to develop the ideal product. We have a legacy of being first, and we are not looking for that to change.

AMSOIL is not your traditional oil company. We are not a multinational that is bringing in oil from Nigeria, Saudi Arabia or other jurisdictions. Instead, we focused on developing a supply chain based in the North American market, leveraging our positioning in the heart of the continent in Wisconsin.
Our motor oil is formulated, blended, and packaged as our line of synthetic products right here in the United States. Our central facility is located in Superior, Wisconsin, where we not only manufacture our line of products but also research, develop and test new products in our state-of-the-art mechanical lab. From sourcing to development and even blending, AMSOIL is a true American company through and through.
