What Happens When I Switch to AMSOIL?
What Happens When I Switch to AMSOIL Motor Oil?

All the stats in the world don’t mean a thing if you don’t see results, right?
First of all, one thing is certain when you make the switch to AMSOIL synthetic motor oil: your engine is being treated to the finest lubrication money can buy. Now, some engines take the change in stride and appear to continue operating the same as ever.
Other engines seem transformed.
In addition to saving you a precious chunk of time and money, here are some of the things new AMSOIL users may also experience:
- Oil pressure moderates. At idle, a slight oil pressure drop indicates the new oil flows more freely than the old oil did. This is highly beneficial to the engine.
- High oil pressure at idle indicates the oil pump must work hard to push the oil through the engine, which is stressful to the pump. And hard-to-pump oil may also leave some components under-lubricated and unprotected.
- But if they keep an eye on their oil pressure, new AMSOIL users will find that it’s steady as she goes at the new, better pressure.
- Higher engine RPMs. Since AMSOIL synthetic motor oil generates less intrafluid friction than conventional oils do, engine bearings rotate more easily with AMSOIL in the engine. It’s more bang for your buck. For a given amount of energy, a bearing that moves easily rotates faster than one that doesn’t move as freely.
- Increased fuel efficiency. AMSOIL reduces intrafluid friction, which means less energy is required to overcome the friction needed to move your vehicle a given distance. This translates directly into fuel savings which means fewer trips to the pump for you.
- More power. Here’s another benefit to lower intrafluid friction. The power your engine formerly used to overcome high intrafluid friction with conventional oil now goes towards moving your vehicle. In fact, many users report their shift points actually decrease due to the “extra” power their engines find with AMSOIL.
- Year-round “Spring” Cleaning. AMSOIL synthetic oils clean as they go, removing sludge and deposits left by your previous oil. If AMSOIL is installed in a particularly fouled engine without an AMSOIL Engine Flush pretreatment, sludge and debris freed by the cleaning action of AMSOIL will end up in the oil filter. That’s why you should change your filters frequently until this process ends. (Oil consumption will increase if full-flow filters are not changed.) Once completed, your vehicle’s oil consumption rate will return to normal or even to a rate lower that is customary rate.
- Extremely low oil consumption. Thanks to the low volatility of AMSOIL synthetic motor oils, your engine can achieve much lower oil consumption rates than it does with petroleum-based oil. This is one of the keys to our 25,000 mile/1-year extended interval guarantee.
- Easier cold starting. AMSOIL synthetic motor oils are less prone to low temperature gelling than convention oils. This allows the engines to turn over easily in colder temperatures. In fact, most AMSOIL users find they no longer need block heaters!
- Lower operating temperature. Oil sump temperatures may run as much as 20 degrees (F) cooler with AMSOIL than they do with conventional oils. Friction generates heat, and since AMSOIL synthetic motor oils generate less intrafluid friction and wear than other oils do, they also generate less heat.
And We Have All the Data to Prove This!
Like you, I was raised with integrity.
So I couldn’t go around selling something that I didn’t 100 percent believe in. That’s why I take so much pride in being an AMSOIL distributor. I can back up every claim I make with the test results to prove it!
Now when AMSOIL was founded in 1972 by Al Amutuzio, an ex-jet fighter pilot, it was the first and only synthetic motor oil approved for use in automobiles.
But these days, it seems like all the oil companies have caught on to the idea of synthetic motor oils. Which means there is plenty of healthy competition, even though no other company offers a 25,000-mile/1-year guaranteed extended drain interval.
So in an effort to remain at the top of the industry, AMSOIL runs hundreds of “in-house” tests to compare their products to all the competition out there.
